Waist Hip Ratio
Body Mass Index has long been known to not be accurate for body builders and those with higher than average muscle mass. The new metric in town is the waist hip ratio:
I am back to a normal waist hip ratio after eating on the road at hotels and restaurants. I travel 100% by definition for my employer; however this has dramatic effects on your health. My cholesterol went from 130 to 230 in just 6 months. My weight went up 14lbs and my sleep suffered; and my stress levels went up as well. Exercise became sporadic at best; as sleep suffered.
Frankly they can have all the lawyers in the world; but I am very, very on top of my health because of my disability and I know for a fact that travel kills you. Just take a look at all my overweight co-workers… sure the company has lawyers a plenty; and they would say that it was choices we made – but the choices I have when on the road vs. when I am home – dramatic.
In the security industry I have learned that law doesn’t find justice; it finds liability.
Frankly I cook at home a lot, you just can not compensate for food you control; I know exactly how much fat, protein and carbohydrates are in my food. I weight them! Restaurants hide their cooking in fats because they taste good even though they have half-ass cooks…
See my good friend Mark about half ass measures here…
while I have been semi off my game on exercise; I exercised 9 times in the last 3 weeks; I have dropped to 173 lbs regularly and my waist has gone from a 38 to 35 inches. I know lots of people would love to see such progress when they are off their game; but don’t give up hope – I have hypogonadism and can never have children; I have to get my testosterone in an injection and I am at increased risk of mortality by 33% from all causes. Trust me, I would rather be in your normal shoes…
